Thomas C. Brown, 79, of West Chester passed away on October 29th at Chester County Hospital. He was born and raised in Philadelphia before moving to Linwood, PA during his high school years. Tom was a graduate of St. James High School with the class of 1963. He went on to attend Goldy Beacom College in Delaware. He worked for many years in management for several different auto dealerships throughout the greater Philadelphia area.
He enjoyed playing poker, going to the casinos and horse racing. He also liked to bowl and was a member of the St. James alumni bowling league with whom he is featured on the St. James wall of fame.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Thomas, and Barbara Coyle Brown; brother, Joseph Brown; in-laws, Tony Rokicka, Betty Steif, and Kay McPartland.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Brown; in-laws, Robert Rokicka (Pat), and Phil Rokicka (Robin); cousin, Ed Dougherty with whom he was very close, as well as many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8th at 12pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited for visitation from 11am-12pm. Burial of ashes will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.

On May 4, 2025, the Alumni Association will remember Thomas at their annual Memorial Mass at St. Madeline’s Church in Ridley Park. May he rest in peace!
Aunt Mary, so very sorry for your loss. You and Tom had a wonderful, long marriage and shared many blessings. He will certainly be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers for you and the family.
