Betty “Jean” Johnson-Montello
Betty “Jean” Johnson-Montello, 96, of the Ogden section of Upper Chichester Township, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on October 10, 2026.
Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, Jean was the daughter of the late Elmer and Hannah Johnson. She was raised and educated in Upland and has been a resident of Upper Chichester since 1955.
Throughout her life, Jean held several positions, including working as a sales consultant for Avon and Princess House. She also worked at Scott Paper for many years and helped operate the family business, the Nite Cap Lounge, before retiring.
Above all, Jean devoted her life to her family and friends, who meant everything to her. She loved music and continued singing and dancing almost to the very end. Her vibrant spirit, warmth, and love of life will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert “Big Al”; her sisters: Estelle “Teddy,” Margaret “Peggy,” and Helen; and her brothers: Harold “Sonny” and Benjamin “Benny.”
She is survived by her son, Albert (Rosemary); her three daughters: Phyllis Rochelle (Dave), Lisa Chlebek, and Angel Montello (Ralph); her sister, Mary; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Avenue, Boothwyn, PA 19061. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Interment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
Jean will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her unwavering love of family, cherished friendships, and joyful spirit.
