Stephen Morris Trimmer, 66, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Upper Darby, PA. Born on November 7, 1957, Stephen graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 1975 before earning a degree in Chemistry from Drexel University.
Steve dedicated his career to the field of chemistry, working at Johnson Matthey from 1981 to 2007. For the past 4 years he has enjoyed working at Polites Florist.
Steve was passionate about cycling and off-roading in his Land Cruiser. He participated in the Bike MS: City to Shore Ride and the Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride multiple times. Cooking, gardening, reading, listening to and playing music also brought great joy and fulfillment to Steve’s life.
Steve is survived by his children, Jacob Trimmer and Brianna Trimmer; his sisters, Sandra Bradley and Barbara Whedon; his aunt, Janet Trimmer; and his nephew and niece Robert and Rebecca Whedon. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. Trimmer, and his mother, Shirley (Heisey) Trimmer.
Steve will be remembered for his intellectual curiosity and his warm approach to life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Steve’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association, The Salvation Army, or Horizon House at www.hhinc.org.
It was very nice to know and work with you. You were a great guy. This happened so suddenly that I am still processing it. You will be missed.
