Richard M. Caruth, 77, of Brookhaven, PA passed away on February 20th at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Roy and Doris Caruth. He was raised and educated in Upper Darby. Rich worked as a teaching assistant at the Folcroft Technical school where he taught classes in emergency and protective services; and also at the Aston Technical School where he taught culinary classes. He also worked as a police dispatcher. Rich was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and served as a police chaplain in Prospect Park and for the Police Officers on Pension Group. Rich lived a life of service to others as a member of the Delaware County Medical Corps, Civil Air Patrol, Auxilary Police, Delaware County Emergency Patrol, and CISM Team assisting first responders who were dealing with traumatic experiences. He served his community as a firefighter, EMT, and a paramedic. He enjoyed his hobby doing HAM Radio as a member of the ARES organization. Rich was also dedicated to his faith and was a member of the Covenant Fellowship Church in Glen Mills where he was active in the GriefShare and Reboot ministries, and was also a part of the photography team. Rich was a member of the Freemasons.
He was predeceased by 2 former spouses, Clara and Linda. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Caruth; daughter, Helene Caruth; sons, Bryan and Michael Caruth; grandchildren, Caden Camacho, Jessica, Tyler, Riley, and Keira.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th at 11:30am at Covenant Fellowship Church 1 Fellowship Dr. Glen Mills, PA 19342. Friends and family are invited for his viewing from 10:30-11:30am in Church. Light refreshments will follow and burial will be at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Covenant Fellowship Church Outreach Ministry.

Known Richard all my life. He was close friends with my family through my mom Barbara and my late dad Mel. Uncle Richie will be missed, but So many good memories will be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. ♡♡♡
