Frank R. Yacona age 77, passed away Saturday, July 25th 2026 with loved ones by his side. Born on December 11th 1948, Frank was a graduate of Chester High School. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Frank worked for Sun Ship and Sun Oil as a pipefitter and union officer.
Frank was very proud of his 47 years of service on the Delaware River. Frank was also a proud member and officer at American Legion Post 951, Ogden PA. Frank was an avid sports fan, especially any Philly team, and a devoted shuffleboard player. Frank’s enthusiasm for shuffleboard led him to run the Tuesday night league and create the Thursday night league. Frank loved all animals especially his dogs Candy and Holly, and of course, watching Family Feud.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Angeline Yacona, his loving wife Christine Yacona, his daughter Christine Peticca, and sisters Theresa Nott and Rita Parker.
Frank is survived by his companion of 15 years Betty Rich, sons Frankie Yacona and Jack McGinnis(Michelle), son-in-law Cody Boudreaux (Rachel), step daughter Megan Cuerden(Neil), grandson John McGinnis Jr, granddaughter Kayla Flory, step granddaughters Brianna Keller, Riley Keller, Peyton Keller, and Ava Cuerden, great granddaughter Kloe Fetters, sisters Mary Postiglione(Tony) and Joanne Kowalchuck, brother James Yacona, brother-in-law Edward Nott, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, July 31st 2026 at Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, PA 19061. Viewing from 10-11am. Services at
11am, followed by burial at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Frank’s name to American Legion Post 951, 2638 Ogden Ave, Upper Chichester PA 19061.
