Linda M. Desmond (born August 12, 1957) Linda Marie Desmond of Newark, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
She was 67 years old. Born in Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, daughter of James J. Desmond, Jr. and Kathryn
T. Cody Desmond, step-daughter of Patricia Desmond. Beloved Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt, Friend, and Mother to all, Linda is survived by Deborah
Desmond Prorok and Robert “Robbie” Martin, Denis Quinn Sr., Sasha Boyle Pillai, Christine Prorok, Katie Prorok, Sarah Prorok, Patrick and Karen Prorok, Jyothi Pillai, Surya Pillai, Scarlett
Prorok, Knox Prorok, & her adored Annie the Beagle. We find comfort in believing that Linda is met in the afterlife by her sister Patricia K. Desmond
Quinn, and Lawrence J. Prorok Jr. and beloved dogs Scarlet, Pepper, Molly, Becca and so many family members, friends, and loves beyond this world.
Professionally, Linda earned, with honors, her Masters and Bachelors degrees at Wilmington University. She worked with dedication at senior positions in Human Resources for well over 30
years. Your lack of planning certainly became her emergency as she executed with meticulous drive, generosity, and a warm-hearted customer focus. Before her most recent decade at
AmeriHealth Caritad, she brought her amazing expertise to Arbonne International, Endo Pharmaceuticals, Wilmington Trust, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, and DuPont
Pharmaceuticals. Although, her first job at TV Guide may have been the most exciting and warmed her heart through memories, if not the tea.
Linda expressed her true nature through play and had many friends in all stages of her life, while also holding the balance of enjoying her own company.
Throughout her life, Linda maintained a curiosity about the world, enjoying sea adventures in any form – a beach trip or an ocean cruise.
She went to Ridley High School, graduating class of 1975. Linda was ride or die for any Philly sports event! Phillies, Eagles, or Flyers game time was
SACRED and GOD HELP YOU if you mistakenly called her during a game [cough]. Self-confidence was a powerful quality Linda carried, one that we could depend on and will miss
dearly. She honored and valued her own intensity, but not above her independence. Her most cherished and beloved friends gave her plenty of space and freedom for her own pursuits, with
a you-go queen flare, making Linda radiate like the sun and feel love as deep as the ocean.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 12pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited for visitation from 11am-12pm. Burial will be private.
