David F. Mancini

David F. Mancini, age 77, of Upper Chichester, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 15th, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Chester, he was the son of the late August and Catherine Mancini (née Marshall). Dave was raised in Linwood and graduated from St. James High School with the class of 1965. He spent his entire career working for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement.

Dave enjoyed playing golf, visiting the casino, and spending time at the shore. Above all, he cherished time with his family—especially his grandchildren. A devoted “Pop-Pop” and father, he was a proud supporter at all of his grandchildren’s sporting events.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Rose Marie Bonner, James Mancini, Jack Mancini, and Marshall Mancini.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia Mancini (née Lomas); his children, David Mancini, Jr., Julie Mancini (Kris), and Marianne Mancini (Emily); and his grandchildren, Andrew, Vanessa, Natalie, and Ellie. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn. Family and friends are also invited to his viewing in the church from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.

  3. Dave and his family were our great neighbors in Linwood. I read books to Dave when he was 3 years old and played trucks with him. He was a good kid. I am sad to hear of his passing. My condolences are sent to his family.

  5. Working with Dave was a pleasure. he often made me and alot of other P.O. workers laugh, he had unique timing, when telling a funny story.
    I have memories of when he wanted a special gift for Pat’s graduation from Nursing school, he had a ceramic nurse statue made and asked us if we thought she would really like, it was so important to him. I remember when he got married, when each of his children were, and when each of his family members passed away. These were his priorities in life and I’ll always remember him as such a good guy. Dave will always be in my prayers and Sympathy for his wonderful family.
