George R. Burns, 58, of Linwood passed away on Friday, February 17th, 2012 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. George worked for many years at the Buono Brothers Bakery. He was known by many throughout the area as The Bread Man. George was a veteran of the US Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, John and William Burns. He is survived by his wife, Susan Burns; Daughters, Kristin Dickey (Eric) and Megan Burns; Brother, James Burns; Sisters, Anna Wright and Rosemarie Amalfitano; Six grandchildren.

His funeral service will be celebrated on Friday February 24th at 11:30am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, Pa. Friends and family are invited to call from 10am-11:30am. Burial will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa.
