Franklin Phillip Austin

Franklin Phillip Austin passed away May 3, 2008 at Fair Acres in Middletown Twp. Born and raised in Upland PA to the late Raymond and Edna Austin, Franklin was a resident of Linwood for most of his life moving to Fair Acres about 10 years ago.

He was employed by Vets Cab Co in Marcus Hook as a cab driver and he drove a cab for 20 years. He was also a security guard and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a longtime volunteer with several fire companies including Trainer and Ogden as a fire policeman, and he also had the nickname speed bump.  He also played Santa Claus for the fire company.

At Fair Acres he enjoyed bus trips and going to ball games on the bus. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Edna Austin and siblings Raymond Austin, George Austin, Elizabeth “Betty” Cummings, and James Austin. He is survived by his sister Jean Mingo of Boothwyn, 2 aunts, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service Sunday May 18, 2008 3pm in The Church of the Nazarene, 1810 N. Providence Rd, Media, PA 19063.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church.
