Watz Casimir Klepacki Jr. known lovingly as Kie, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022 at Riddle Hospital.
Kie lived his younger years in the Chester/Eddystone area where he met and married the love of his life, Sissy. He attended St. James High School in Chester, where he excelled at basketball. He graduated in the class of 1950. Kie served in the US Army; after his discharge, Kie and Sissy moved to Linwood and started a family. Kie lived a full and active life surrounded by his family and many friends. He had a huge heart. He often took in strays, both human and animal. He enjoyed celebrating holidays, crabbing, and attending all of his childrens’ events. Kie also loved to cook. He could cook like no other—best known for his variety of delicious cheesecakes, raviolis and golumpkis. He was a talented carpenter who could build or fix anything.
Kie was preceded in death by his parents Watz and Pearl, his siblings Robert Klepacki and Elizabeth McMordie. Kie’s memory will live on through his best friend and wife of 69 years ,Sissy; his siblings Edward (Liz) and Dixie Young, and his children Watz (Karen), Margaret (Ralph), Richard, Michael, Beth, and Barbara (Michael). He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, many, many great- grandchildren, and his loyal dog Max.
A Catholic Mass of burial will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. 3200 Phialdelphia Pike, Claymont DE. On Wednesday, January 26th at 11am. Friends and family are invited to his viewing in church from 10-11am. Burial to follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
