Thomas S. Conte, age 95, of Wilmington, DE died on Friday, October 3rd, 2014 with his family by his side in Doylestown, PA. Mr. Conte lived in Wilmington, DE for 55 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a medic during WWII. He later went on to work for Sunbeam bread for 35 years as a driver/salesman. He was awarded the Man of the Year in 1961 as the #1 salesman in the company. After his retirement, he worked at Delaware Park until the age of 87. He loved fishing, football, baseball and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Paulina Conte, and his son, Thomas A. Conte.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Rose Bucci and Mary Marinaro; 2 grandchildren, Thomas J. Conte and Gina Conte Sullivan; 3 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Brendan and Natalie Sullivan; his special lady friend of 12 years, Emily Errico of Elkton, MD.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 10th at 11am at the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marcus Hook, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 10am-11am in church. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
