Sylvia Adams Wilson, 85 years old of Wilmington DE, passed away January 18, 2008 at home. Daughter of the late John K. and Bertha Bussinger Adams, Sylvia was a 1940 Graduate of Pierre S. DuPont High School and a 1943 Graduate of Wilmington General Hospital School of Nursing.

She was employed as a registered nurse at Wilmington General Hospital after graduating and worked there for 28 years in various departments. She left Wilmington General Hospital and went to work as a private nurse for Dr. Leonard A. Hershon retiring this past July 2008 after 30 years of employment. Sylvia accumulated over 65 years as a registered nurse.

Sylvia was dedicated to her profession and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed trips to New Jersey shopping in the quaint little towns on her way to the New Jersey Shore, an avid reader of books, and loved to shop especially with her daughter in law Vanessa and grand daughter Olivia.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Raymond R. Wilson in 1995, son Craig A. Wilson in 1973, brothers John J. Adams in 1980, Nelson Adams in 1967, and sisters Edna Adams in 1991 and Gertrude A. Waite in 2005.

Sylvia is survived by her sons Robert J. Wilson and his wife Vanessa of Newark DE and Richard A. Wilson and his wife Billie Lea of New Castle DE, her grand daughter and best friend Olivia R. Wilson and grandchildren Kristen and Jason Price and Gina B. Tomczak.

Services and burial will be private.
