Stanley M. Kokoszka (Stosh) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 in Media, PA
A resident of Boothwyn, PA for the last 35 years, he was born and raised in Chester, PA with his sisters Nellie Kokoszka (Mellor) and Laura Kokoszka (Marvin).He graduated from Chester High School where he met Claire Green, the love of his life. From then on it was all about the two of them – homemade pierogi making, wedding throwing, and trips to the shore. They bowled their brains out at Conchester Lanes, bowling perfect games.
Then it was all about the THREE of them – when their dreams came true with the arrival of their cherished son, Matthew. Stosh was a celebration of humility, loving acceptance, and pride. He was a giver of unique gifts and always had you on his mind. If he was giving you a hard time, it meant he loved you. Affectionately known as the Polish prince, he worked at Penn Terminals as a Stevedore until his retirement in 2018. Prior to that he was a manager at Montco Foods for many years.
Stosh was an avid fan of surf fishing and enjoyed summer trips to Dewey Beach and Boothbay Harbor in Maine. He was also a CB radio enthusiast, where he and Claire made lifelong friends.
He is predeceased by his loving and beloved wife Claire Green Kokoszka. His sister Nellie Mellor. His parents Stanley and Laura (Blouse) Kokoszka. Brother-in-law Michael Green, and sister-in-law Sally Green Hoffman.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Kokoszka. His sister, Laura Kokoszka Marvin, Sister and brother in-laws Teresa Green Ewing and Tommy Ewing. As well as nieces and nephews, Mike Green, Sean Green, Tim Green, Jason Ewing, Thomas Ewing, Jessica Ewing, Allison Ewing, Michelle Hoffman, Kelly Barbone (Goddaughter), Patrick Sullivan, Christopher Mellor, and Lauren Mellor Cruz, And many loved grand-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Ward Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2nd with visitation at 11am and sharing service at noon.

I’m going to miss you, Bubba! I love you Stan. We worked together for 15 years at Pier 82 and then we stayed in touch every other week or so I’m really heartbroken. Your friend always, Bruce

Oh my Stoshie, I love you and will miss you with every breath I take. I’m hoping you are at peace and with your Claire who we all know is the love of your life. For 60 years my brother, my friend, I will miss you forever.
