Shirley A. Imberg Brady, 74 of the Linwood section of Lower Chichester died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at home. She was born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts to George and Ida Pelkonen Imberg where she was reared and educated before moving to Ridley Park where she finished her senior year at Ridley high school graduating with the class of 1952.

Shirley was a woman who devoted her life to her home and family. She loved wildlife and nature in general. She enjoyed spending time at Harrah’s casino and also known for her knowledge of current events.

She was the wife of the late Albert Brady who died in 1970. She is survived by her loving companion and partner Philip J. Hance with whom Shirley made her home in Linwood. Two daughters Kathleen I. Fitzgerald and Joanne E. Pierson both of Claymont, DE. One son Stephen Brady of Wilmington. Eight grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be 8pm Monday evening at the Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St. Linwood, where there will be calling from 6 to 8. Burial will be private.
