Settimeo S. DePaul, 93, of Marcus Hook died Sunday March 20th, 2011 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. He was born in Charleston, WV to Paul and Marietta DePaul. At the age of 12 he moved to Chester, Pa where he was reared and educated. He worked as a welder for the Sun Ship company during World War II. Afterward, he worked as a piano maker for the Lester Piano Company. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he worked as a Welder for the Sinclair/BP Oil Refinery.
Settimeo was a Longtime resident of Marcus Hook, where he was a member of Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was also a former member of the Viscose Fire Company. In addition, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph’s Council 4271 and the Cardinal Dougherty Assembly. He was an avid Phillies fan. What he enjoyed most, however, was time spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, He was predeceased by his Wife, Mable Kent DePaul who died in 1987. He was also predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by 2 Sons, Phil DePaul (Anne) of Newark, De and Greg DePaul (Joanne) of Claymont, De.; Former Daughter-in-Law, Nicki DePaul; 1 Brother, Joseph DePaul of Boothwyn; 4 Grandchildren, Marc DePaul (Keri), Adam DePaul (Michelle), Christine DePaul and her Fiance Brian Sweeney and Kimberly Mackey (Evan); 2 Great-grandchildren, Leah DePaul and Jake DePaul; many nieces and nephews.
His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, March 25 at the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marcus Hook. Friends and family may call from 8:30am-9:30am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, Pa. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery.
