Robert S. Kester, 58, of Upper Chichester passed away on Sunday, December 21st at his home. He was born in Chester and was raised and educated in Upland. Bob was a graduate of St. James High School with the class of 1985. He worked as a machinist for most of his career, most recently for the Mapei Company. He was a longtime member of the Upland AC. Bob was also an avid fan of the Washington Redskins. He enjoyed baking, making soup, and beef jerky. Bob was a man devoted to his Christian Faith.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jeremiah, and Cecelia Kester; brother-in-law, Joe Sweeny.
He is survived by his children, Nicholas Schiedel, Eric Schiedel (Katherine), and Joshua Kester; siblings, Jerry Kester (Nancy), Stacie Hall (Wayne), AnnMarie Sweeny, Michael Kester (Debbie), Edward Kester; 1 grandson; longtime friends, Brandi DiNenno, and Frank and Melissa Jenkins
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27th at 11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to his viewing from 10-11am. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.

I am so sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing. My heart goes out to his kids and family members. I have known the Kester family ( well most of them ) since growing up in Upland. Bobby was in my classes in grade school. Rest in piece my ole friend.
