Robert L. Crist – 3/3/2022

Robert L. Crist, 83, formerly of Linwood passed away on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022.  He was born in Chester to the late Raymond and Marion Crist.  Bob was a graduate of St. James High School with the class of 1956.  He honorably served his country in the US Marine Corps.  Bob worked for many years as an electrician for Westinghouse and Sun Oil.

Bob was an avid runner completing multiple marathons.  He was an active member of the Delaware Veterans, Post #1.  He was also a member of the Delaware County Sports Hall of Fame and a long-time member of Holy Saviour Church.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Crist (2013); sister, Marion Altemus; brother, William Crist.  He is survived by his children, Robert Crist (Maria Dolores), Suzanne Mansi (Benjamin), Lawrence Crist (Veronica), Matthew Crist (Ashley); grandchildren, Alexander (Giulia), Cristina, Gabriella, Benjamin, Dylan, Madeline, Katie, Alexandra, and Luke; great-grandchildren, Martina and Luca; sisters, Rayanne and Toni Crist.

His funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 8th at 11am at Holy Rosary Church 3200 Philadelphia Pike Claymont, DE 19703.  Friends and family are invited to his viewing from 10-11am in church.  Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Toys for Tots @ Delaware Veterans Post #1. 2535 Veterans Drive, Wilmington, DE 19810

    Probably I met Bob at some time in my 36yrs.at Sun.
    MARINES are special. I owe my life to the ones who kept the nva away from DaNAng AB IN 1968.
    No body wears a uniform like a US MARINE.
    I know you will all miss him.
