Robert E. Stokes, Jr. 35, of Frazer formerly of Media, died Friday August 20, 2010 in Concord Township. Born in West Chester to Robert E. Sr. and Wendy Lynn Sweeney Stokes. He was reared and educated in Upper Providence in the Media-Rose Tree School District. He has lived in Frazer for the past 14 years.
Robert was a man who devoted himself to his home and family. He was an installer for several commercial sprinkler system companies in Delco. He enjoyed watching football especially the Colts and the Eagles, fishing and going to concerts.
He was the husband of the late Ellen M. Wickersham Stokes who died in July of this year and his father Robert E. Stokes, Sr. who died in November of last year. Survived by his two sons Shane Robert, Luke Patrick Stokes and his daughter Haley Rae Stokes all of Chester County. His mother Wendy Lynn Sweeney Stokes with whom her son made his home in Frazer. One brother James R. Stokes of Dallas, PA and one sister Roberta Pliscott of Brandon, FL. His Step-mother Linda Stokes of Coatesville. His Maternal grand-parents John W. and Barbara L. Downer Sweeney of Frazer.
His memorial service and inurnment will be held 12 noon Thursday at Lawn Croft Cemetery on the Ridge Rd., Linwood, Pa. 19061.
This is the time of year when you think of your friends. I went to Penncrest with Rob, and I knew Ellen also. I am sorry about your son. He was a good person. I just wanted to reach out to you.
