Rita Layton, 62, of Marcus Hook died on July 22nd at her home. She was born in Upper Darby to Francis and Elizabeth Green Park. Rita was raised and educated in Upper Chichester. She worked in retail sales for Jamesway Department Stores, Dollar Land and Goodwill. Rita loved to sing Karaoke and collect elephants.
She is survived by 5 daughters, Nancy Lynn Swider of South Carolina, Holly Layton of Lancaster, Bobbie Jo Layton of Reading, Alana Lafferty of Aston, and Chantel Layton of Upper Chichester; 8 grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 1pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 12-1pm at the funeral home. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ward Funeral Home to help offset the cost of funeral expenses.
I’m truly sorry to hear of Rita’s passing and will treasure the many years we shared when she came to sing with us on karaoke night. It was a pleasure getting to know her and the rest of the family over the years. You will all continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
