Ricky D. Cross, 53, of Trainer passed away on February 9th, 2020 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. He was born in Chester where he attended Chester High School and later went on to graduate from Mt. Pleasant High School. Ricky was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a security guard for Sun States Security for many years. He was also a volunteer fire fighter having been a member of Parkside, Trainer, Marcus Hook, Lennox Park and Vauclain Fire companies. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and taking long rides on his motorcycle.
Ricky was predeceased by his wife, Velvetann Cross (2014), son, Joseph Cross (2018); sister, Kathy Bryck (2010); brother, David Cross (2016). He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Osborne (Charles Holloman); parents, Margaret and David Cross; brother, Roy Cross (Lori); Daughter-in-law, Bebe Cross; grandchildren, Crystal Vandemark, Victoria, Lilly, and Ava Cross; nephews, Roy(Adrain), Tony (Emily), Shane, and Justin (Mandy); niece, Kirsten.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14th at 12pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 11am-12-pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Sorry for your loss, i knew ricky from the St.hedwigs days, thoughts and prayers to the Cross family.
Ricky rest in peace. God has taken all your pain away. I’ve known you & your family for a long time. Ricky & I worked security together at Zenith Products. My heart was broken when your daughter told me that God called you home. We’ll see each other again one day. You will surely be missed. I Love You Ricky My Friend don’t ever forget that.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I will truly miss Rick we became friends when we worked at Dover airbase together. We always stayed in contact after leaving Dover. I will see you on the otherside brother but I was expecting to be there before you not you be there waiting for me.
Just spoke to Ricky 2 weeks ago for a long time…..very saddened to hear of his death.
