Richard L. Black

August 2nd, 2024

Richard (Richie) Black died at home on July 26, 2024.  Richie was born into a large family in Green County, PA.  He left school early to work and help support his family. He worked in many types of jobs, including a stint in the army where he served overseas for a few years. Then he settled into the home improvement industry where he worked long and hard for many, many years.  After retirement he continued to take jobs, big and small, for friends and family. Rich truly could fix or build anything. A true outdoorsman Rich fished and hunted all his life until he physically couldn’t do it anymore. He enjoyed gardening and cooking very much and devoted a lot of his time in retirement to those activities. Rich is survived by his wife, Michelle; brother and best friend, Kenny Black (Mary Jane); his children Richard (Krystal); Megan (Jon); and Amanda (Steve); his beloved grandchildren; Nathan, Juliette, Jemma, Sutton and Ethan; and many much loved nieces and nephews; And by Bailey, his loyal and loving dog.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral home 1459 Market St. Linwood, Pa.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10-11am.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church at 2320 Grubb Road Wilmington, DE 19810 or online at https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=T5NT6423T3ZMS
