Richard J. Powell, 63, of Linwood passed away on January 3rd 2021 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Richard was born and raised in Chester where he graduated from Chester High School. He later went on to earn an associate’s degree from Delaware County Community College. He worked for many years for the Wawa Corporation. Richard was a man of great faith who valued and loved spending time with his family.
He was an avid fan of Phillies baseball and also played baseball for many years. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard W. and Julia Powell. He is survived by his son, Richard “Chris” Powell; grandchildren, Katelyn Powell, Brandon Powell, and Sianna Cruz; brothers, Scott, George, and Danny Powell; sisters, Shirley Powell, Joanne Eckert.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8th at 1pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to his viewing from 12-1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Danny, my brother, I think of you as a brother. My brother, I Love you and my best wishes go out to you today during your brother’s funeral. Take care of yourself. I am sending good vibes today to you, Pat and Eileen.
