Raymond S. Biordi passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in Philadelphia, PA. He was born on August 25, 1935 in Williamsburg, PA.
He grew up in Chester, PA and attended St. Anthony’s and Chester High School. Later, he went on to live in Boothwyn, PA before eventually moving back to Williamsburg.
He was a veteran of the Armed Forces and was deployed in Germany for a full year. He loved talking about his bartending days at the Anvil Inn, where he met his wife, Joan.
He was employed at Allied Chemical for 30 years and retired from there in the late 80’s. As he found retirement to be boring, he went to work at the Penn State Delco campus and, most recently, at the Holy Savior – St. John Fisher School in maintenance capacities.
He was an avid sports fan and loved being around his family, who still talk about the great family parties on Randall Avenue that he helped organize.
He is survived by his son, Donald Biordi of Cherry Hill, NJ (son of Joan Biordi), his grandson Evan Biordi of Cherry Hill, NJ, his sister Theresa Culbert of Linwood PA, his brothers, William Biordi of Wilmington, DE and Michael Biordi of Wilmington, DE, his step-daughter Robin Ward of Westville, IN and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved him very much.
His funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 10am at Holy Saviour Church, 108 E. Ridge Rd., Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 9am-10am in church. Burial will be private.
