Priscilla “Sis” Rudolf Wallace, 88 of Lima, PA formerly of Marcus Hook died Wednesday February 10, 2010 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Lima. She was born to Charles and Alice McHugh Rudolf, in Marcus Hook, where she was reared and educated. She lived in the borough most of her life and has been a resident of Fair Acres for the last 10 years.
She was a nurse for the former Sacred Heart Hospital in Chester for many years before retiring circa 1966. A lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marcus Hook. She volunteered her services to the Marcus Hook Fire Co. Ladies Aux. and was the Secretary for the Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc.
A recipient of the Police and Concerned Citizens of Marcus Hook Award for outstanding and dedicated service to the Borough and of the National Kateri Tekakwitha League Award based in Auriesville, NY. In 1980 she went to Rome as a representative of the League for an audience with Pope John Paul II for the Beatification of Kateri.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband George T. Wallace, Sr., a daughter Barbara Gilbert Carey, son George T. Wallace Jr. She is survived by three daughters Priscilla (John) Moser of Trainer, PA , Diana Lee (Leo) Dusa of Wilmington, DE and Peggy King Wallace of New Castle, DE. One brother Vernon Rudolf of N. Philadelphia and Three sisters–Penny Raffa of Center Square, PA, Anna Colbert of North Carolina and Nora Galbraith of Aston. Ten grandchildren, Seventeen Great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Thursday at the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8th and Green Sts,. Marcus Hook, PA 19061. Burial will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery Linwood. Calling will be from 9 to 10am Thursday at the Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood.
