Mr. Carmen Antonetti, 90 of Marcus Hook died Monday July 6, 2009 at Riddle Memorial Hospital Media. Born in Marcus Hook to Vincent and Concetta Fiorino Antonetti, Carmen spent his entire life in the borough.
A veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII he served in the European, African and Middle Eastern theatres of operation for four years where he received numerous service medals and was also awarded two Bronze Stars. During his service Carmen was an Italian/English interpreter and participated in the campaign at Anzio Beach in Italy. After the war he and his brother Samuel owned and operated Sam’s Café in Marcus Hook for over forty years.
He is survived by his loving sister Mary Antonetti Kok of Wilmington, DE, and beloved companion of 64 years Dolores Savoy of Linwood. He also leaves behind three nieces, four nephews, five great nieces and nephews and three great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Samuel Antonetti, Joseppi “Hippy” Rosetti, and his late niece and nephew Sandra Antonetti Reynolds and Carmen “Bill” Antonetti.
His funeral will be 10:30 Thursday at the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church Marcus Hook. Burial will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Upper Chichester. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9 to 10 at the Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood.
