Mildred Hicks Carre, 81 of Prospect Park formerly of S.W. Philadelphia, died Saturday November 28, 2009 at Prospect Park Nursing Home. She was born in Massachusetts and moved to Philadelphia, where she was reared and educated. She spent most of her life in Philadelphia and has been a resident of the Nursing Home since 2000.
She was a woman who devoted her life to her home and family. A former member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and St. Clements Catholic Church both in Philadelphia. She also volunteered her time for many years at Villa Maria. She was known for her compassion and Love for animals.
Wife of the late Augustine E. Carre Sr. who died in 1991. Survived by one son Augustine E. Carre, Jr. of Philadelphia. Two daughters Lee M. Koway and Mary Catherine Davis both of Port Charlotte, FL. Ten grandchildren, Nine great-grandchildren and One Great-great-grandson.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Thursday at Holy Saviour Catholic Church, 901 E. Ridge Rd., Linwood, PA, where there will be calling from 9 to 10 at the church. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.
