Mary Green Ward, 90, passed peacefully on April 15th, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Trainer, PA. She attended Holy Saviour Elementary School, then went on to Ridley Park High School. Mary left school to begin working at Baldwin Locomotive Works. She eventually earned her GED at age 69.

After working as a secretary at Baldwin, Mary spent many years as a homemaker. Later, Mary went to work at Widener University Registrar’s office until her retirement in 1999. Mary found joy in babysitting, visiting and vacationing with her children and grandchildren. Mary also enjoyed sewing and crocheting for her family. Mary was a long-time member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Ward; parents, Elizabeth Lentz and Dennis Green. Mary is survived by her children, Maria (Ward) Cannon (John) , John Ward (Donna), Joseph Ward (Eileen), and Rita (Ward) Mitcheli (Chuck); Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 19th at 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Glen Mills, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 9:15am-10:15am in Church. Burial will follow in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
