Marie E. Shiner Charles, 71, of New Castle, De, formerly of Aston, Pa died Monday, April 30th, 2012 at home. Marie was reared and educated in Chester, where she was graduate of Chester High School with the class of 1959. She worked in several capacities in the Delaware State Hospital until her retirement.

Marie was a member of both the Moose Lodge and the Rod & Gun Club in New Castle, De. She was also a member of the Red Hats women’s club. She enjoyed cooking and going to the casino. What she enjoyed most was time spent with family.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Mahoney. She is survived by 2 Daughters, Mary Petty (Mark) of Venice, Fl and Tina Shuter (John) of Glenolden; 7 Grandchildren, Mark, William, Taylor and Marina Petty; Holly, JD and Kalina Shuter; 1 great-grandchild, Faith Marie Shuter. She is also survived by her Loving Partner, Frank Bristow of New Castle, De.; Ex-Husband, Patrick Charles.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 3rd at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marcus Hook. Friends and family are invited to call from 8:30am-10am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, Pa 19061. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.
