Margaret T. “Peggy” Sayo, 75 years old passed away March 12, 2009 the 75th anniversary of her birthday at Wilmington hospital with her family by her side. Born and raised in Linwood, to the late Charles and Bernice M. LaChance Phillips, she resided in Claymont DE for many years.
Peggy was a 1952 Graduate of Notre Dame High School in Moylan and was employed for 25 years at General Chemical as a Dispatcher, until her retirement. Presently Peggy was employed by Super Fresh in Claymont for the past 10 years.
Peggy was a woman who devoted her life to her home and family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a member for many years at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, was very fond of the Delaware Beaches, and Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year, and she enjoyed watching game Shows.
She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Bernice Phillips, and her son George C. Sayo, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 54 years George C. Sayo, Sr., 2 sons Ron (Lisa) Sayo, and Robert A. “Bobby” Sayo, 2 sisters Charlotte Costa and Jane Bingel, 3 grandchildren Carolyn Sayo, Anthony Sayo, and Angel Fox, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to her viewing Monday evening 7-9 and Tuesday morning 9:30-10:30 at Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood and to her funeral Mass Tuesday 11am in Holy Rosary Catholic Church; burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston.
