Margaret Murphy, Nee Greenberg, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 surrounded by her family. Margaret will forever be missed by her loving and devoted family. Born and raised in Marcus Hook, Margaret resided in Aston for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Greenberg; and her husband, James J. Murphy.
She is survived by her four sons, James W. Murphy(Michelle), Michael J Murphy, Kevin P. Murphy (Lisa), and Patrick Murphy (Sheryl); Brother, Meyer “Hank” Greenberg (Anna). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 25th at 11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 10am-11am. Inurnment will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Main Line Health Homecare and Hospice.
We live in Maryland, but Mrs. Murphy always remembered us each year with a heartfelt Christmas card. We will never forget her delicious sweet potato casserole with marshmallows. It was her signature plate and a Thanksgiving classic. But most of all, we will always remember the LOVE that Mrs. Murphy had for her family and just how much she meant to them. She was a very special person and will be deeply missed.
We were blessed to know Peg Murphy. We were with her at many family occasions and had a great time with all the family together. We just pray for their family Lord and we just pray that you help the family through this situation and pray you just help ease their pain they’re going through right now
