Judith Benvenger (nee Shortoff) of Garnet Valley, PA and Wallingford, PA was called peacefully to her eternal home on August 18, 2021.  She was surrounded by loving family.

She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Rose Shortoff; her former husband, Charles Benvenger; and sister, Joan (Harvey) Vogel.  She is survived by her loving daughters, Deborah Benvenger (PA) and Judith Kelly (MI), as well as grandsons Michael and Mark Kelly of Michigan.  Judy also has nephews Jeffrey and Richard Vogel and their families in Long Island, New York.

She was a faith filled woman, as well as a loving mother and grandmother. Her grandsons gave her great joy as she read to them in their younger years. Family was everything to her. Her love of animals was obvious with the pets she had throughout her life. Crocheting, bingo and watercolor painting were enjoyable activities in her later years.

Her family would like to thank the Belvedere staff and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care given in her final weeks.

Her funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market Street, Linwood, PA 19061. Friends and family are invited to call from 12:30 -1:00pm.

 

Judith’s memorial mass and celebration of life luncheon will be planned for a future date.
