Joseph Walker, Sr.,73 of Garnet Valley passed away peacefully on Friday, September 13th, 2013 surrounded by his family at Taylor Hospice. Joe was the proud owner of Marcus Hook Florist where he worked side by side with his family. While he was growing up his mom told him that her friend Mildred Hilsher needed a boy to help in the shop. He was in seventh grade and has worked there ever since. Joe, a gifted designer, spent a lifetime inspiring others through his spectacular creations. The beautiful pieces that he created touched so many during memorable times of their own lives. He took great pride in his work and was grateful for the opportunity to serve his loyal customers. He loved his work and the wonderful people he worked with.

Joe enjoyed the beauty of nature and often spent many hours walking in the woods with his dear friend Tom Coyle. He belonged to the Tall Pine Hunting Club where he enjoyed hunting deer, but more importantly, the company of good friends and tall hunting stories. He enjoyed spending time on his boat fishing in the Delaware Bay with his boys and grandchildren. Joe wanted everyone who fished with him to have the best experience possible. He became well known at the Lewes Marina and often had pictures and articles written about his flounder catches. What he enjoyed most, however, was time spent with his family and friends. His life’s journey will long be remembered by his kindness and his generosity to others.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Walker; Children, Michelle & Michael Gray, Danielle & Frank Way, Andrea & Bob Karpovich, Joe Walker, Jr., Jeanine Walker, Michael Walker, David & Lindsay Walker; 11 grandchildren; Sister, Marie Datillo.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 18th at 11am at St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn, Pa. Friends and family are invited to call from 9:30am-11am in church. Burial will be private.
