John J. Hillson, Sr. of Boothwyn passed away on Thursday, August 8^th.  He was born in Chester to the late Eino and Ruth Hillson. He was raised and educated in Boothwyn and was a graduate of Chichester High School.  John went on to work for Phoenix Steel for many years until his retirement.  He enjoyed spending time on his boat fishing, and hunting.  He also had a love for cars and racing.  John was a member and former director of the Chester County Sportsman and Farmers Association, as well as the VFW Post 5447 in Wilmington, DE.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Philomena Hillson (2021); siblings, Charles Hillson and Judy Woodall.  He is survived by his children, Angela Hillson Lamplugh, John Hillson, Jr. (Maria); grandchildren, Alexa, Alana, Gabriella, Anthony, and Julianna.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 13^th at 11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA.  Friends and family are invited to his viewing from 10-11am.  Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery.
