Janice M. Tees (Mielcarek), 64, of Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania passed away Monday, July 17th, 2023, surrounded by her family at home.
Janice was born in Upland, Pa. to Edna and Thomas Mielcarek on June 5th, 1959. She was reared at the family home in Twin Oaks, Pa. alongside her siblings, family and friends. “Jan” attended Holy Savior School in Linwood, Pa. and graduated Notre Dame High School in 1977.
Following school, Janice worked at Mielcarek’s Florist with her family. She also owned her own house cleaning business, Sunburst Cleaning, which operated for several decades. Janice was very involved as a member of the Holy Saviour Church, participating in Women’s Club and as a Coordinator for the Voices of Angels choir, and was known for her sense of humor. Everyone who spent time with Janice knew her famous phrase, “Nobody Knows,” and that she loved talking to her friends on the phone, going to the casino, and taking care of her pets, and taking trips to the shore. Janice loved her late husband, Don, and her children deeply, leaving them little notes in her home to remind them that she is always here.
Janice is predeceased in death by her late husband, Donald W. Tees; parents: mother, Edna M. Mielcarek and father, Thomas J. Mielcarek Sr.; sister, Susan Campbell; and mother-in-law, Bessie Cooper Tees. She is survived by her son, Donald Tees 30 (daughter-in-law, Kristen Brice); daughter, Rebecca Tees 29 (son-in-law, Jesse Gaunce); and daughter, Edna Tees 25. She is also survived by sisters, Patrica Batog (Joseph Batog) & Maria Plucker; brother, Thomas Mielcarek Jr.; brother-in-law, Brian Campbell; and endless lives of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, godchildren, cousins, adopted children and best friends.
Those who wish to celebrate her life may attend her viewing at St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn, PA at 9:30am-10:30am on Monday, July 24th. Funeral Mass at church will follow at 10:30am, and conclude in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood.
