James “Jay” Paxson

James (Jay) Bradley Paxson died unexpectantly, at his home, on Sunday, January 14, 2024.  He was 53.  He was born December 11, 1970 in West Chester, PA and was the son of Timothy and Dyann (Blittersdorf) Paxson.

Jay grew up in West Grove, PA and was a graduate of Avon Grove School District, Class of 1990. He resided in Maryland for most of his adult life and at the time of his passing lived in Massey, Maryland.

He is survived by Holly Dawson; a son, James Bradley Paxson Jr., and 2 daughters, Kaytlin Dawson (John) and Elizabeth Slack (Gavin); one grandson Dean Slack.

Jay is also survived by 2 brothers, Paul Paxson and Gregory Paxson (Winter) and a sister Jennifer Paxson (Danny).

He enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dogs, Ezekiel and Massey.  Jay had a lifelong passion for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies.  In his earlier years, he enjoyed snowmobiling in Potter County with family.

A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held on Sunday, February 18th from noon-3pm at the Robert Fulton Fire Company 2271 Robert Fulton Highway, Peach Bottom, PA 17563.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Wards Funeral Home, Linwood, PA.

  1. I knew Jay through his brother Paul. We all lost touch as we grew up. I just learned of Jay’s passing after attending Paul’s services. I wish myself Paul and Jay would’ve kept in touch as we got older. I’m happy for the times I got to spend with him in our younger years. RIP Jay.

  2. My sincere condolences to the Paxton family. I knew Jay in my earlier years and he was certainly a joy to be around. Jay was very thoughtful and caring guy. Paul hang in there. May God bless you and give you comfort and peace.
