James Hopkins, 88, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Linwood, PA, passed away on November 8th, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Chester, PA to the late John and Mildred Hopkins. Jim worked for 49 years as a machinist for the Teledyne-Wirz company where he was integral in developing their tamper evident packaging. He enjoyed traveling, especially family vacation to Elk View Shores, MD with his family. He was a veteran of the US Navy.
Jim was predeceased by his spouses, Patricia A. Hopkins (1982) and Rosalind Hopkins (2016); son, James B. Hopkins (2011); siblings, Mary Wolfe, Betty Harper, John Hopkins, Donald Hopkins, Patrick Hopkins, and Bernard Hopkins.
He is survived by his children, Marie Didyoung (Tim) and John Hopkins (Shelly); daughter-in-law, Gail Hopkins; grandchildren, Stephanie Ball, Christopher, Michael, and Alex Didyoung, Tyler, Travis, Peyton and, John Parker Hopkins; sister, Dolores Probst; brother, Harry Hopkins.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15th at 12pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 11am-12pm. Burial will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.
