Helen E. Clendening (nee Walsh), 85 years old, passed away July 2, 2008 at Naamans Creek Country Manor where she had been a resident for the past 3 years. Born and raised in Bayone, NJ to the late Harry and Emma Simpson Walsh, Mrs. Clendening was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She was a longtime resident of Sun Village for 60 years and resided in Boothwyn for 2 years before moving to Naamans Creek Country Manor. She was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and also was a member of Holy Savior Catholic Church. Mrs. Clendening loved to travel and enjoyed the beach, especially Cape May NJ.
She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Emma Walsh and her husband Richard Clendening III and her daughter Mary Atkins. She is survived by her son Richard Clendening, IV, of Boothwyn, 1 brother Harry Walsh of Drexel Hill and 4 grandchildren, 12, great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass Monday 10am St. John Fisher Catholic Church. Viewing Monday morning 8:30-9:30, Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home. Inc., 1459 Market St., Linwood, PA, burial Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.
