Harley F. “Sonny” Quillen, 89, of Marcus Hook passed away on Friday, October 11th, 2024.
Sonny was a graduate of Ridley High School with the class of 1952. Immediately after graduating, he enrolled in the United States Marine Corps. Harley served in the Korean War. He was a proud veteran of the Marine Corp.
Sonny was a longtime resident of Marcus Hook. He was a lifelong sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees. He made many trips to Florida to watch his beloved Yankees in Spring Training. He also enjoyed playing in many golf tournaments around the country. Harley & Mr. McFadden enjoyed coaching the little league in Marcus Hook. One of his greatest memories was helping to train Bill “White Shoes” Johnson.
Harley is predeceased by his wife Jean Marie Quillen. His Brother Snooky Crawford.
He is survived by his Daughters, Sharon Quillen, Deborah Kennard, a son Mickey Quillen. His great-grandsons: Kayden, and Nathan.
His great- granddaughters: Brittany, Toryn, Julianna.
His Grandchildren Kristina, Jaclyn, Michael & Derrick.
Friends and family are invited to his funeral service which will be held graveside on Friday, October 18th at 11 am at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.
I had the pleasure of enjoying Sonny’s company on many occasions and fondly recall each and every one of them!
His motivational spirit, inspirational attitude, and sharp as a tack sense of humor have left me, and I’m sure many others with great memories!
