Geraldine N. Shaw, 56, of Woodlyn passed away on October 7th at Crozer Chester Medical Center. She was born in Chester to Vernon and Norma Thompson. She was raised and educated in Marcus Hook where she was a graduate of Chichester High School. Geraldine worked as a veterinary technician for several veterinaries in Delaware County. She was involved in rescuing and fostering cats, and the TNR program that focused on having animals spayed and neutered. Geraldine was also a frequent patron of the Woodlyn Dunkin’ Donuts.
She was predeceased by her father, Vernon Thompson. She is survived by her mother, Norma Thompson; sister, Janet Galligan; brother, William Thompson; dear friend, Chris Goldsmith. Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 17th at Ridley Park United Methodist Church at 12:30pm. Friends and family are invited to call from 12-12:30pm in church. What a wonderful person Gerry was. Her visit to Missouri was unforgettable, Branson was a hoot. Gerry had the kindest smile and an awesome heart of gold. Will truly miss her.

We are just heart broken about the sudden death of my cousin. Geraldine and I would talk often on the phone for hours something I surely will miss.
A Silent Tear 💧
Just close your eyes & you will see all the memories that you have of me. Just sit & relax & you will find I’m really still there inside your mind. Don’t cry for me now I’m gone for I am in the land of song 🎶. There is no pain, there is no fear so dry away that silent tear 💧. Don’t think of me in the dark & cold for here I am, no longer old. I’m in that place that’s filled with love ❤ known to you all, as “up above”
