Frank P. DeMaio, 90, of the Linwood section of Lower Chichester died Wednesday, July14, 2010 at Vita Hospice Care at Mercy Catholic Hospital in Darby, PA. He was born to Pasquale and Fortuna Costello DiMaio in Chester, where he was reared and educated. He has lived in Linwood for the last 53 years.
He was a rigger for the former Phoenix Steel company in Claymont, DE for 34 years before his retirement in 1981. A veteran of the Navy during WWII in the Asian Theatre of Operations. He was well know locally for his daily walks around town.
Husband of the Late Mary J. Trasatti DeMaio who died in 1982. Survived by 3 Sons Pat DiMaio of Florida; Frank DiMaio of Aston, PA; Guido DiMaio who made his home with his father in Linwood; 2 Daughters Joan DeCarlo of Seaford, DE, and Nancy Bell of Aston; 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
His funeral service and Burial will be private. Donations in his name can be made to Vita Hospice at 1500 Lansdowne Ave., Darby, Pa 19023.
