Florence E. Kiliany, 99, of Boothwyn, died Saturday, October 21st, 2023 at home while being comforted by her loving family. She was born September 24, 1924 in Monaca, PA, the daughter of the late Herbert Watson and Mary Hill Watson. Florence was a long-time member of the Methodist Church of Feltonville, where she served as treasurer for many years. Florence was a graduate of Scottsdale High School with the class of 1942 and was also a graduate of the Registered Nursing program at Frick Memorial Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, PA. She worked as a nurse at Chester and Sacred Heart Hospitals and Fair Acres Geriatric Center. She spent most of her career working in the nursery and loved caring for the babies. After retirement, she volunteered as a foster grandmother at a daycare, for hospice and through mission work for indigenous peoples in South Dakota.
In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband, Robert Sr. and her two brothers, Woodrow, and Tyler.
Florence is survived by her loving children, Robert Kiliany, II and his wife Joanne of Mullica Hill, NJ, Barbara Walters of Sewell, NJ, Mary Beth Kiliany of Boothwyn, David Kiliany and wife Laura of Boothwyn, Bryan Kiliany of Wilmington, DE; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a loving matriarch who always had a helping hand, a kind word, and supportive prayer for loved ones and strangers alike.
A private visitation and burial will be held at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, Linwood, PA and SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA respectively. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the March of Dimes which shares Florence’s mission to improve the health of mothers and babies.
