Donna Marie Maitland, nee Wesley, passed away at Bristol House on Monday, February 9th, 2026. She was born in Chester to the late James and Esther Wesley. She was raised in Marcus Hook where she lived for over 40 years. Donna was a graduate of Chichester High School with the class of 1974. Donna worked as a machine operator for Fibre-Metal for more than 30 years. She also worked in the same capacity for Kimberly-Clark for 15 years before her retirement. She was a long-time United Steelworkers (USW) member and served as a USW union representative for numerous years while working at Fibre-Metal. Donna was part of the union while at both Fibre-Metal and Kimberly-Clark but more of an active union member during her time at Fibre-Metal serving in numerous roles including shop steward.
Donna loved the beach, she frequently spent time at the Jersey Shore and Delaware Beaches. She also enjoyed spending time at the casino playing the slots. Throughout her life, Donna had numerous dogs and cats that she greatly cherished. She prided herself on being a fiercely independent, hardworking woman who always loved a good laugh.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Doreen Bateman.
She is survived by her daughter Danielle “Dani” Brosnan and her husband David “DJ” who was like a son to donna and provided her care and compassion.
Her funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21 at 11am. Friends and family are invited for visitation from 10-11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA.
