Donald N. Butz, 90, of Elkton, MD, formerly of Chester died on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017 at his home. He was raised and educated in Chester. He lived for several years in Newark, De until spending this past year in Elkton, MD.

He worked as a carpenter for DuPont for 25 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy with whom he served during WWII. He enjoyed racing inboard hydroplanes and motorcycles. He was also an airplane pilot. He also enjoyed spending time building wood speed boats.

He was predeceased by his wife, Florence Simcox Butz; sister, Ethel Safian. He is survived by his sons, Donald N. Butz, Jr. of Glenolden, James Butz of Aston, PA and Michael Butz of Deptford, NJ.; Daughter, Debra Colon of Elkton, MD; Brother, Charles Butz of Ridley Park; sister, Norma Butz of Chester, PA; 7 grandchildren; 8 grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at 11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited call from 10-11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park, Marple Twp.
