David W. Speed died at the age of 54, March 18, 2009 at home. Born in Chester PA to the late Lloyd and Lucy Walker Speed, David was raised in Chester and resided in Marcus Hook PA for most of his life. He has been a resident of Mary D for the past 13 years moving to Mary D in 1996.

He was employed by Lowes Distribution Warehouse in Pottsville for the past 7 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union Warehousemen. He loved the Philadelphia Eagles and enjoyed remodeling his home.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years Shirley A. Speed, nee Fritz, 2 sons David Speed, Jr., of Boothwyn, PA and Eric Speed, of Boothwyn PA 3 step daughters, Paula Masscotte, Middleport, PA Peggy Williams, of Linwood, PA and Tammy Williams, of Indianapolis, IN, 3 brothers, Edward DiMeglo, of Fortesque, NJ, William Crowder, of Marcus Hook, PA and Len Speed, of Middletown, DE grandfather of David Miller, Jesse Masscotte, David Speed, III, Andrew Masscotte, Kenny Dennis, Marisa Speed, Taylor Montgomery, Hannah Speed, Cameron Mankovitch, Jeremy Gannon, Leah Dennis, Justin Montgomery, Shayla Montgomery, Jacob Speed, Jared Speed.

Family and friends are invited to his funeral service Monday 11am, with viewing 10-11am at Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home. Inc., 1459 Market St., Linwood PA 19061.
