Loving Husband & Devoted Father
Charles Preston Bingnear, 83, of Trainer passed away on Sunday, January 11th, 2015 at Taylor Hospice. He was born in Chester to Francis and Edith Bingnear. He was raised and educated in Chester, then later in Southwest Philadelphia where he was a graduate of West Catholic High School with the class of 1950. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps with whom he served during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for many years as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 845. He enjoyed his time spent as a coach in the Chester West Little League. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus with the Holy Saviour Council #13710. He sang for many years with both the Holy Saviour Choir and the Knights of Columbus Choir. He also enjoyed his time singing with the St. James Alumni Choir. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Eagles.
He was predeceased by his wife Theresa Bingnear in 2007. He was also predeceased by his Sisters, Margaret, Desma, Kathleen and Charlotte; Brothers, Francis, Norman, Vincent, Larry and John. He is survived by his Children, Christopher Bingnear (Janice), Daniel Bingnear (Barbara) and Mary Regina Farrell (Mark); 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17th at 10am at Holy Saviour Church in Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to call on Friday evening after 6pm and again on Saturday morning from 8:30am-9:30am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St. Linwood, Pa. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
