  2. I went to many reunions across the US with Charlie. He always spoke very highly of my dad and still called him “chief” after all these years. I will always remember Charlie as a gentle giant who was already ready to talk and Philadelphia sports. In recent years he said he had controlled his fandom for the Eagles saying “I don’t throw things at the TV anymore.”

My favorite memory of Charlie was when we were in Las Vegas. We visited the “Neon Museum” where all the old casino signs were collected. Before boarding the bus I asked Charlie what he thought of the place, and he replied “Oh, I’ve been to a junk yard before.” That has always made me laugh.

RIP Charlie…we’ll see you on down the road.

  3. My dad served on the USS Lyman K Swenson for many years. I met Charles and his wife by going to reunions with my dad and even a few after he passed away. Later Charles and I started playing Word with Friends and kept in touch . He always wished my family happy holidays and kept in touch. He was a very nice person. The Lord has another good one. Condolences to the family.

  5. If you were going to try to find an example as to what Christian love really looks like in real time, in this life, you would have to look no further than my dear brother, Chick Spevak or his beloved wife Carmen.

Chick was a man who was mighty in love, in word, and deed! he was a prayer Warrior, whose efficacious prayers availed much!

Even though our church is much poorer with the loss of our wonderful brother, I know that on this very day Chick’s eyes are beholding the Kingdom that he so longed to see, and had so often, shared the gospel of the Lord Jesus with many, in hopes that they might also behold the wonders of Heaven!

This day is a glorious day! I believe that Chick is hearing the wonderful words of our Savior, “Well done thou good and faithful servant!”

I pray that the Lord would comfort and strengthen his beloved wife Carmen, and all of the family!

  6. I’m so sorry, Chick was my father in law and was one of the most lovable person in the world. He will be forever loved and missed.

    love you.
Lisa Spevak,Mason, Kayla, Jerry and Danny xoxo

  7. “Chickie” was a fun loving guy. We were classmates in the class of 1965 at Chichester High School and homeroom friends. I will miss his funny stories and his facebook memories. His love for the Lord was evident in all he said and did. I know he is with his Lord and Savior.

  8. Chick, You so faithfully served to the end, pouring out wherever God gave you opportunity, with wisdom, humor, and obvious love for our Savior. Well, you are home with Him now (I might be a little envious) and look forward to the day we will join you with Him forever. See you there.

  9. I was so saddened to hear that Chick Spevak was gone from this earth, but I’m comforted in knowing that he’s with his Savior and Lord. When I think of men in our midst who have made an indelible mark on Covenant Fellowship Church, Chick stands as one who loved God’s people well and demonstrated it through his faithful prayer life for our pastors and the congregation. His life was well lived, and I’m thankful that our Lord allowed me to know Chick.

Carmen, it has been a joy for Debbie and me to watch the love you and Chick had for one another after uniting later in life. The laughter and affection the two of you shared were on display for all of us to see and were a testimony to God’s faithfulness in your lives. I can’t fathom the sadness you are experiencing now, but know that many of your church family are holding you up in prayer.

May the Lord’s kindness and comfort give you peace in your grief!

    With Sympathy and Love,

    Jimmy Lyles

  10. I was introduced to Chick through Alpha. A ten week course on the basics of Christianity. In the beginning Chink didn’t want anything to do with church.Through the ferverent prayers of his wife Millie, Chick started to warm up to going to church and the Alpha course. He was a mighty prayer warrior and a great friend.
