Catherine B. Wray passed away after a short illness on Sunday, January 14 at the Crozer Hospital in Chester, PA.
She was born on 31 May 1934 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Chester Pa, to Carl and Catherine Blaier. Her father and mother were from Germany and Hungary, respectively. She married John W. Wray in June 1964 and widowed from him on 3 January 2006. Her early career was as a secretary prior to staying home to raise her two children, John and Steven. She then returned to work in the 1980’s for a few years to clean offices.
She is predeceased by her beloved sister Martha, who passed away in 2022.
She leaves behind her two sons John and Steven, her niece Lisa, nephew Anthony, and her two grandsons Maxwell and EJ. She is also survived by her beloved family in Maryland which includes her daughter-in-law Pat, two step-granddaughters, Wendy and Destiny, nine step great-grandchildren, and three step great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her other daughter-in-law Christine, two step grandchildren, Thomas and Nicole, and two step great-daughters.
She was a member of Trainer United Methodist Church for over 60 years until her mobility recently became limited. She was also actively attended the Trainer Senior Citizens meetings and activities. She was a lifelong resident of Trainer, Pa.
Her love of animals of all kinds knew no bounds throughout her life as she was the friend and cohabitant of several dogs and many generations of cats in her home. With her love she welcomed both strays and domestics and gave generously to animal related charities.
We ask that in lieu of flowers you give donations to the ASPCA in honor of her love of animals.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 25th at 12:00pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to her vieiwng from 11am-12pm. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery.
I am so sorry for your loss. As a member of Trainer UMC, I met Kitty 40 years ago. She was a wonderful person and truly a gift from God. May he give you comfort.
