Carl R. Wimble, Sr., 82, of Boothwyn passed away on July 12th, 2016. Carl was born in Chester to the late William and Louise Nerz Wimble. He was a graduate of Chichester High School with the class of 1954, where he excelled in sports and made many friends.

Following high school, he played sports for many years and was also involved in coaching. He received a Special Recognition Award from the Marcus Hook Old-timers for his many years of outstanding service to the community. Carl worked for 35 years at ICI, Americas in New Castle, DE until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed his retired years going to his cabin and celebrating holidays at Moon Lake in Ashland, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, William E. Wimble, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Joan Wolverson Wimble; Sons, Carl R. Wimble, Jr. of Ashland, PA, Mark A. Wimble (Cathy) of Emmaus, PA, Kirk A. Wimble (Ann) of Elysburg, PA; Daughter, Gail L. Truax of Millville, PA; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16th at 12pm at the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Boothwyn, 2655 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, Pa 19061. Friends and family are invited to call from 11am-12pm at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA.
