Carl C. Carnes, 89, of Marcus Hook died Saturday, April 2nd at Crozer Chester Medical Center. He was born to Cisciro and Beulah Carnes in Wilmington, Delaware, where he was reared and educated. He has lived in Marcus Hook for the Past 17 years.
Carl was a line foreman for the Continental Can Company in Wilmington, De for 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Army in WWII. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW post in Elkton, MD. He enjoyed dancing and traveling. What he enjoyed most, however, was time spent with his family and pets.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Shirley Beauchamp Carnes; 1 Son, David Manganello of Marcus Hook; 2 Daughters, Susan Freeman of Prospect Park and Cheryl Speakman of Marcus Hook; 1 Brother, William Carnes of Indiana; 1 Sister, Peggy Brenner of Hart, MI; 3 Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8th at 12pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, PA 19061. Friends and family may call from 10am-12pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
