Bernadette Gruszka – 11/25/2023

November 27th, 2023

Bernadette Gruszka, 61, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at her home. Bern was born in Chester to the late John and Jeanne Soltner. She was a student atChichester High School and spent the majority of her adult working life in the food service industry.

Bernadette was a beloved wife, mother, proud grandmother, sister, cousin and friend to all who knew her. She was loving, funny, very energetic, and a generous woman who always had a smile on her face. Family and her grandchildren were the most important things in life to her. When not working, Bernadette spent a lot of her time divided amongst a myriad of her passions. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening and decorating for the holidays. Bern’s other passion was shopping as she was always looking to buy something for someone to put a smile on their face. Aside from time with family and cuddling with her animals, one of her favorite pastimes was just about anything “beachy”.  Sunning in the sun warmed her soul. Her dishes, smile, laugh and generous love to all warmed many hearts and she will be forever missed.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Joshua Gruszka.

She is survived by her husband, David Gruszka; son, David (Erica); grandchildren, Aiden, Isaiah, Dominic, Jazmeyne, Isabel, Emma Rose and Josie; siblings, John Soltner, Anthony Soltner and Judy Soltner.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 11:00 am at St John Fischer Church 4225 Chichester Ave. Boothwyn, Pa.  Friends may call from 10:00 at the church.
